Virginia Historical Resources

Virginia history isn’t limited to Appomattox and surrounding areas. But, this area played a huge role in the development of this nation’s history. From Native American settlements to colonial development and from Huguenot immigration to the end of the Civil War, this area’s soil has seen vast changes over the past centuries.

The following pages are filled with resources for historians who are obsessed with Virginia’s history. Some pages focus on Museums, while others direct you to plantations. Although we’ve collected quite an inventory, this is an ongoing process. If you know about any links that should be added, contact Linda at “publisher @ appomattoxnews.com” (remove spaces and quotes).
