Governor Timothy M. Kaine today highlighted Virginia’s ranking as first among the 50 states and U.S. territories for the number of historic districts added to the National Register of Historic Places during federal fiscal year 2008. It is the fourth consecutive year in which Virginia has achieved top ranking for districts listed.

APVA Preservation Virginia has announced that Cool Well, built c. 1820, has been sold by the endangered historic properties Revolving Fund Program to an individual for restoration. Cool Well was donated by a joint venture between Mr. Todd Rogers of Rogers-Chenault, Inc. and Mr. Bryan Kornblau of Eagle Construction, Inc. to the Revolving Fund Program in 2006. Cool Well, is located in eastern Hanover County, Virginia on Shady Grove Road.
