A reenactor is a person who enacts a role in an event that occurred earlier in time. In this case, the era is the mid-1800’s, during the American Civil Wartime period (1861 – 1865). The place is Appomattox, where Peggy and Shelby Voorhees, a mother and daughter team of civil war era reenactors, share a great love of their local history, and are proud to educate the public on the everyday lives of people living in these trying times of our American history.
