Scholarly Research Fellowships
Fellowships support visits to KHS any time in the year they are awarded and are designed to assist researchers with travel and living expenses while using the KHS research collections. KHS usually gives a total of ten scholarly fellowships. Awards range from $250 to $1,000.
These fellowships are intended to support serious scholarly work. They enable individuals to pursue advanced study and research in the collections of KHS. Applications are welcome from independent scholars, as well as from college and university teachers, graduate students, advanced undergraduate students, librarians, archivists and museum curators.
Successful candidates in the scholarly research category are strongly encouraged to write articles for submission to The Register of the Kentucky Historical Society. Fellowship recipients in this category are expected to make an informal presentation regarding their research projects during their research stay. They also must complete a narrative report of three to five pages outlining the work accomplished. For more information about the scholarly research fellowships, contact Darrell Meadows at darrell.meadows AT ky.gov or 502-564-1792, ext. 4406.
